This week continues off with more classes, shopping and Nintendo Hype, so I’m going to go through my projects next time. I’m still waiting for the mail to bring me my goddamn disc drive for my Wii so I can record some beautiful custom tracks, like 3DS Toad Circuit.
The Nintendo Hype I’m talking about is Majora’s Mask 3D, the Mario Kart 8 DLC, more Super Smash Bros. 4 on Wii U info, Splatoon single player and more games for the Wii U and 3DS. I have a feeling that my Wii U library may surpass my Wii library in the amount of games. My total Wii games already surpasses my GameCube games and it’s pretty much tied with my PC games, I guess, since I have almost 200 games, although I’d get more with the Humble Bundle and all that.
I think I’ve had enough for today though. I can’t really seem to stop laughing at some of these videos, so I guess I’ll be off to post again when I feel like it.
The title’s relevance has more to do with Canada’s Worst Driver and the latest episode. I’ve been a major fan of the show for approximately eight years and I would love to rewatch all the previous seasons of Canada’s Worst Driver for pure entertainment, while watching the current season until the season finale.
Anyways, I guess I can elaborate on projects I was thinking of during the period of several days below. I’ll keep the horizontal alignment of this entry to the left for convenience.
Project: Layz-E Boy (Potato)
As I mentioned in the previous blog, this is basically a sectional with a modified cup holder section, designed specifically to house the circuit board of any console or consoles I choose to install in it. The board will need to be secured into the unit properly so that it doesn’t fall and possibly break. The reason why I wanted to use a section with cup holders is so that more than two people can play games while having a drink or two and not have to get up to turn off the console or change games (since cup holders usually have compartments for storage, which is ideal for a few cartridges or CD cases. The sectional of choice would be leather because they don’t attract pet hairs as much as other fabrics do and it does feel rather smooth. Let me know what you think of the idea in the comments below.
Project: Medusa (TV Project)
Named after the infamous gorgon from Greek mythology, the project was meant to fit a console’s circuit board into a TV, most likely a CRT TV or something along those lines. The name has more to do with the screen than anything because like some gamers, I don’t really like looking at myself when the screen cuts to black. Like the Layz-E Boy, this was meant for pure convenience, but the reason for that is to deal with the TV only, as opposed to the console connected to it. It’s really not much of a project and the name could be far better.
Well, I guess that’s about enough out of me for now, since I can write a few more down whenever I post next time. I shall see you all next time.
~Lee Harrold (ALPHAMARIOX)
We finally have snow in my area that may last until April or May, which is what I needed for a while now. The only part I don’t like about snow is when it falls onto my glasses while walking because I am pretty much blinded for a while, which is not a good feeling.
Anyways, I have been having issues with having SD cards work on my old Wii lately. It’s able to detect something in the SD card slot, but it won’t recognize the SD card. I’m not sure on how to fix this, but maybe someone with much more electronic repairing expertise, please come forward. As for a newer Wii I purchased back in 2010, I’ve been having issues with the disc drive, which is a relatively easy fix for me, since I know of more sites with instructions on fixing it. Once I have it running again, I’ll be able to record more gameplay footage, which I wanted to do for weeks now.
I don’t feel as though I really want to elaborate on some of the projects that I have thought up of today, since there has been some turmoil everywhere and I’ve been a little lazy and not feeling entirely optimistic lately. I might go a little into one of them and that was a sectional that was fancied to being a video game console as well, although it would have to include cupholders where the board might be installed into. I will elaborate more on this when I feel like it. Anyways, I’ll just leave this blog at that for now. See you all again next time.
Well, I got more into Team Fortress 2 again, with my new Halloween cosmetics and still love Merasmus’ voice. I also love the new hammer that was released two days ago; “The Necro Smasher.” I started using it on pubs, although it seems that only the engineer can repair and upgrade with the hammer, while everyone else can’t. This time, the spy was left out of the loop. Team Fortress 2 is fairly stressful, but the characters are one of the best I’ve experienced. ♥
Anyways, I’m glad it’s Friday because I’ve been longing for the weekend once again. Our pet tarantula has molted for her first time, according to my roommate and that was pretty awesome, because that means she’s much closer to her full size, which she’ll spend the next decade and a half with; growing until she reaches a certain age and living a long life for an arthropod. This is the first time that I’ve had an exotic pet; an animal that wasn’t a cat or a dog. Tarantulas are still rather adorable to me, so that matters.
I’m not really doing anything special for this Halloween unfortunately, but maybe next year. Other than that, I have nothing much else on my mind today. I might elaborate on some of my ideas for custom consoles and PCs tomorrow or the next time I post a blog. I’ll catch you all later.
This is my first real blog and it’s been a while since I’ve been on my desktop.
So far, not much has happened except classes as usual, which I’m doing fairly well in. I have some new games in my arsenal, but I am waiting to get my hands on Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which are being released on the same date. I have a feeling it’s going to get wild in there. My brother and I have decided to get either a PS4 or an Xbox One for Christmas, since they are starting to get more exclusives that aren’t HD remakes or are available on the PC.
I might consider getting back into planning for console mods, game mods and all that for the SNES, since they have a great library of games. I’ve been planning on maybe building a few reproduction cartridges after I give the games a test on SNES9x because the experience on the original hardware can still feel amazing in ways that an emulator doesn’t at times. The emulators are better for debugging and testing certain added files or modified files that may or may not run, which is decent enough for most people. It really depends on the person and their “tastes” in their preferred platform. Speaking of which, I’ve recently experienced issues with SD and SDHC cards on my Wii lately. The issue has more to do with the contents being read on the Wii, like trying to launch Homebrew, the CTGP-Revolution Channel or Riivolution. They seem to read just fine on my laptop and desktop, so I am at a loss at the moment. If anyone can diagnose this kind of issue just a slight bit, I would definitely appreciate it.
I guess that’s it for the blog. I just wanted to test whether it worked or not while adding some thoughts and opinions that I currently have. As a reward for reading this, here’s a picture.
Until next time I write a blog, I’ll see you all around, I guess.
